The Charleston Trucking EXPO is the first event of its kind to be produced in the second-largest container port city on the U.S. East Coast. The event offers a snapshot of the world of trucking from all angles, delivering a wealth of information and educational resources with industry speakers, engaging and immersive activities, and lots of fun with a variety of local vendors, a food truck park, a kid's zone, raffles, a truck show, charitable projects and more. Charleston Trucking EXPO aims to educate, entertain, and inspire, increasing awareness about one of the most important and relevant industries, from the challenges faced to the benefits a career in transportation provides.
The event’s mission is to bring industry professionals and those aspiring to break into the industry together in one place in an engaging way. With over 1,500 guests, to say the 6-hour event featuring speakers, workshops, healthy on-the-road cooking demonstrations for truckers, tire giveaways, and a kids zone was a huge success. With the rollout of the Transportation Education Foundation (TEF), a 501( c)3 nonprofit foundation, the EXPO will expand to Charlotte in 2023 adding a new southeastern city annually. TEF was founded in 2022 to build awareness within the transportation industry and provide education and career opportunities for professionals, students, and those interested in the field.

Corisa was introduced to imports and exports when she began her career in the Orient Overseas Container Lines (OOCL) transportation department. She has held the positions of Inventory Supervisor for a supply chain warehouse and Depot Manager for a hazardous materials tanker company. She found her niche and never looked back. With her charisma, superior customer service, and leadership skills, she became a terminal manager for six trucking companies, three of which she started from the ground up. In 2011, she opened a logistics terminal where she currently serves as a trucking agent for over 40 owner-operators, pulling containerized freight from South Carolina ports.
Corisa is also a Charleston Motor Carriers Association member, a mentor for the Leading Ladies of Logistix, and mentors and consults carriers and individuals that are entering the industry or would like to improve their operations.
She is a visionary in her field with a strong passion for transportation and people. The Expo is Corisa’s most exciting venture yet and she intends to use this platform to foster change and growth in the industry, as she travels across the Southeast. As start-up costs and qualified drivers are an obstacle worldwide, Corisa hopes the expos will grow existing businesses, birth new companies, and produce more truck drivers in the Lowcountry and beyond. Regardless of where one is on their journey, the Expo aims to help everyone get a step closer to reaching their goals.
Corisa is originally from Kentucky but has resided in Charleston for over 20 years with her husband Terence of 25 years where they raised their three children, who are all adults and support the family’s businesses.
